NVIDIA 590.48.01 proprietary driver release

NVIDIA has released the proprietary driver NVIDIA 590.48.01 (the first stable release of the new 590.48 branch). The driver is available for Linux (ARM64, x86_64), FreeBSD (x86_64), and Solaris (x86_64). NVIDIA 590.x has become the twelfth stable branch following the opening of components operating at the kernel level by NVIDIA. The source texts of the kernel modules nvidia.ko, nvidia-drm.ko (Direct Rendering Manager), nvidia-modeset.ko, and nvidia-uvm.ko (Unified Video Memory) from the new NVIDIA branch, as well as the common components used that are independent of the operating system, are hosted on GitHub. Firmware and libraries used in user space, such as CUDA, OpenGL, and Vulkan stacks, remain proprietary.

Əsas dəyişikliklər:

  • The minimally supported versions are Wayland 1.20 (2021), X.Org Server 1.17 (2015), and Glibc 2.27 (2018).
  • Improved performance of Vulkan swapchain reconstruction, image buffer queues waiting for screen output. The optimization eliminated freezing during window resizing of applications using the Vulkan graphics API.
  • The nvidia-settings utility has resolved the issue with displaying the PowerMizer mode selection dropdown menu on systems with Wayland.
  • Incorrect DPI information output has been fixed on some monitors, such as the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9.
  • Issues with Vulkan applications in environments with Venus, a virtual GPU based on VirtIO, have been resolved.
  • A bug causing freezes on systems with Linux kernels in PREEMPT_RT mode has been fixed.
  • In the EGL platform implementation, errors causing output issues when multi-sampling was enabled have been fixed.
