May 24th saw the release of a new version of NetSurf — a fast and lightweight web browser aimed at low-end devices, which runs not only on GNU/Linux and other *nix but also on RISC OS, Haiku, Atari, AmigaOS, Windows, and has an unofficial port for KolibriOS. The browser uses its own engine and supports HTML4 and CSS2 (with HTML5 and CSS3 in early development stages), alongside JavaScript (ES2015+; the DOM API is partially implemented).

The Duktape JS engine has been updated to version 2.4.0; many new JS bindings have also been added.
Basic support for the HTML5 canvas element has been added (currently available only for working with ImageData).
Unicode handling has been improved, notably fixing the display of multibyte (including Russian) characters in Windows.
Many other small changes.
