Brza implementacija vm ESXi sa Terraformom

Pozdrav svima, moje ime je Ivan i ja sam alkoholičar sistem administrator (OPS).

Želeo bih da vam kažem kako postavljam virtuelne mašine na ESXi bez vCenter koristeći Terraform.

Često morate implementirati/rekreirati virtuelne mašine kako biste testirali ovu ili onu aplikaciju. Zbog lijenosti sam razmišljao o automatizaciji procesa. Moja potraga dovela me je do predivnog proizvoda kompanije hashicorp, teraform.

Mislim da mnogi ljudi znaju šta je Terraform, a ko ne zna, ovo je aplikacija za upravljanje bilo kojim oblakom, infrastrukturom ili uslugom koristeći IasC koncept (Infrastruktura kao kod).

Koristim ESXi kao okruženje za virtuelizaciju. Prilično jednostavno, praktično i pouzdano.
Predviđam pitanje.

Zašto terraform kada možete koristiti vCenter Server?

Možete naravno, ali. Prvo, ovo je dodatna licenca, drugo, ovaj proizvod je jako intenzivan i jednostavno ne stane na moj kućni server, i treće, mogućnost nadogradnje vještina.

Intel NUC platforma djeluje kao server:

Za sada, podesimo esxi, odnosno otvorimo VNC port u postavkama zaštitnog zida.

Podrazumevano, datoteka je zaštićena od pisanja. Vršimo sljedeće manipulacije:

chmod +t /etc/vmware/firewall/service.xml
vi /etc/vmware/firewall/service.xml

Izađi, sačuvaj. Vratite prava i ponovo pokrenite uslugu:

chmod 444 /etc/vmware/firewall/service.xml
esxcli network firewall refresh

Stvarno dok se host ne pokrene ponovo. Nakon toga, ova manipulacija će se morati ponoviti.

Dalje, sav posao ću obavljati u virtuelnoj mašini na istom serveru.

Specifikacije proizvoda:

Na githu sam pripremio sve što vam treba.

U folder iso morate staviti distributivni komplet operativnog sistema. U mom slučaju, ovo je centos 7.

Također morate urediti datoteku. centos-7-base.json:

Nakon svih izmjena, pokrenite sklop:

/usr/bin/packer build centos-7-base.json

Ako je sve ispravno konfigurirano i navedeno, tada ćete vidjeti sliku automatske instalacije operativnog sistema. Ovaj proces mi traje 7-8 minuta.

Nakon uspješnog završetka u folderu output-packer-centos7-x86_64 ova fajl će biti lociran.

Idemo u folder:

Prije svega, uredite datoteku varijable.tf. Morate navesti vezu sa ESXi serverom.

U fajlu network_config.cfg sadrže mrežne postavke buduće virtuelne mašine. Promijenite prema svojim potrebama i pokrenite jednoliner:

Ako je sve urađeno kako treba, za 2-3 minute će se postaviti nova virtualna mašina sa prethodno napravljene slike.

Upotreba za sve ovo ograničena je samo vašom maštom.
