Do test builds Chrome Canary added a password auto-change feature based on the use of AI. The option is enabled in the \"Experimental AI Features\" section (chrome:\/\/settings\/ai). If a password is deemed compromised, Chrome will display a warning when attempting to log in with that password, offering to change it. Upon agreement, the browser will generate a strong password, change it on the site, and save the new password in the password manager. <\/p>\n

The user password compromise check, saved in the password manager, appeared in Chrome about 5 years ago and is based on checking logins and passwords against a database of compromised accounts. The size of Google's database is not disclosed, but a similar database from the haveibeenpwned.com project covers about 15 billion accounts involved in data leaks. To maintain privacy, a hash-prefix check is performed on the user side, and the passwords and their full hashes are not transmitted externally. The use of AI in the newly proposed testing implementation is limited to automating password changes on websites \u2014 AI will fill out and submit the necessary web forms on the required site and update the saved password.
