V\u00fdvoj CUPS pln\u011b kontroluje spole\u010dnost Apple, kter\u00e1 v roce 2007 <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=11392\">pohltila<\/a><\/noindex> koupila spole\u010dnost Easy Software Products, kter\u00e1 CUPS vytvo\u0159ila. <\/p>\n<p>Od t\u00e9to verze byla licence na k\u00f3d zm\u011bn\u011bna z GPLv2 a LGPLv2 na Apache 2.0, co\u017e dovol\u00ed t\u0159et\u00edm stran\u00e1m pou\u017e\u00edvat k\u00f3d CUPS ve sv\u00fdch produktech bez nutnosti zve\u0159ej\u0148ov\u00e1n\u00ed proveden\u00fdch zm\u011bn a tak\u00e9 umo\u017en\u00ed dos\u00e1hnout licen\u010dn\u00ed kompatibility s dal\u0161\u00edmi otev\u0159en\u00fdmi projekty Apple, jako jsou Swift, WebKit a mDNSResponder. Licence Apache 2.0 tak\u00e9 v\u00fdslovn\u011b definuje p\u0159evod pr\u00e1v na patentovan\u00e9 technologie spolu s k\u00f3dem.
