Syst\u00e9m je ur\u010den k \u0159e\u0161en\u00ed \u00fakol\u016f, jako je zaji\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed provozu technick\u00e9 podpory (help desk), spr\u00e1va odpov\u011bd\u00ed na dotazy z\u00e1kazn\u00edk\u016f (telefonn\u00ed hovory, email), koordinace poskytov\u00e1n\u00ed korpor\u00e1tn\u00edch IT slu\u017eeb, spr\u00e1va po\u017eadavk\u016f v prodejn\u00edch a finan\u010dn\u00edch slu\u017eb\u00e1ch. K\u00f3d OTOBO je naps\u00e1n v jazyce Perl a <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/RotherOSS\/otobo\">distribuov\u00e1no<\/a><\/noindex> distribuov\u00e1n pod licenc\u00ed GPLv3.<\/p>\n<p>Stefan Rother, zakladatel a gener\u00e1ln\u00ed \u0159editel Rother OSS, se p\u0159ipojil k OTRS GmbH (dne\u0161n\u00ed OTRS AG) v roce 2004. V roce 2011 zalo\u017eil svou vlastn\u00ed firmu Rother OSS. Do roku 2019 se Rother OSS zam\u011b\u0159ila na poskytov\u00e1n\u00ed obchodn\u00edch slu\u017eeb spojen\u00fdch s variantami OTRS s otev\u0159en\u00fdm zdrojov\u00fdm k\u00f3dem. V reakci na zm\u011bn\u011bnou strategii uveden\u00ed OTRS AG a zpo\u017ed\u011bn\u00ed p\u0159i vyd\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00ed nov\u00fdch verz\u00ed OTRS Community Edition za\u010dala Rother OSS vyv\u00edjet syst\u00e9m \u017e\u00e1dost\u00ed OTOBO (Open Ticket Ours Based OTRS) zalo\u017een\u00fd na verzi 6 OTRS. Obchodn\u00ed koncept OTOBO spo\u010d\u00edv\u00e1 v podpo\u0159e obchodn\u00edch u\u017eivatel\u016f, jejich poradenstv\u00ed a \u0161kolen\u00ed.
