Manipulace \u00fato\u010dn\u00edk\u016f spojen\u00e9 s nastaven\u00edm nespr\u00e1vn\u00e9ho \u010dasu mohou b\u00fdt vyu\u017eity k naru\u0161en\u00ed bezpe\u010dnosti jin\u00fdch protokol\u016f, kter\u00e9 zohled\u0148uj\u00ed \u010das, jako nap\u0159\u00edklad TLS. Nap\u0159\u00edklad zm\u011bna \u010dasu m\u016f\u017ee v\u00e9st k nespr\u00e1vn\u00e9 interpretaci dat o platnosti TLS certifik\u00e1t\u016f. Dosud NTP a symetrick\u00e9 \u0161ifrov\u00e1n\u00ed komunika\u010dn\u00edch kan\u00e1l\u016f nedok\u00e1zaly zaru\u010dit, \u017ee klient interaguje s c\u00edlov\u00fdm, nikoli podvr\u017een\u00fdm NTP serverem, a autentizace pomoc\u00ed kl\u00ed\u010d\u016f se neroz\u0161\u00ed\u0159ila, proto\u017ee je p\u0159\u00edli\u0161 slo\u017eit\u00e1 na nastaven\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>NTS vyu\u017e\u00edv\u00e1 prvky infrastruktury ve\u0159ejn\u00fdch kl\u00ed\u010d\u016f (PKI) a umo\u017e\u0148uje pou\u017eit\u00ed TLS a autentizovan\u00e9ho \u0161ifrov\u00e1n\u00ed AEAD (Authenticated Encryption with Associated Data) pro kryptografickou ochranu interakce mezi klientem a serverem dle protokolu NTP (Network Time Protocol). NTS zahrnuje dva samostatn\u00e9 protokoly: NTS-KE (NTS Key Establishment pro zpracov\u00e1n\u00ed po\u010d\u00e1te\u010dn\u00ed autentizace a sjedn\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00ed kl\u00ed\u010d\u016f p\u0159es TLS) a NTS-EF (NTS Extension Fields, zodpov\u011bdn\u00fd za \u0161ifrov\u00e1n\u00ed a autentizaci sezen\u00ed synchronizace \u010dasu). NTS p\u0159id\u00e1v\u00e1 do paket\u016f NTP n\u011bkolik roz\u0161\u00ed\u0159en\u00fdch pol\u00ed a uchov\u00e1v\u00e1 ve\u0161ker\u00e9 informace o stavu pouze na stran\u011b klienta pomoc\u00ed mechanismu p\u0159enosu cookie.
