NTC IT ROSA has released a corrective update of the freely distributed and community-developed ROSA Fresh 12.5 distribution, built on the rosa2021.1 platform. Builds are prepared for free download, formatted for the x86_64 platform in versions with KDE Plasma 5, GNOME, Xfce, LXQt, and without GUI. Users who already have the ROSA Fresh 12 distribution installed will receive the update automatically.
Vigtige ændringer:
- The package database has been updated. The Linux kernel is upgraded to version 6.6 (previously supplied branches 5.10, 5.15, and 6.1 continue to be supported).
- Firmware and drivers for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have been updated.
- Proprietary drivers for NVIDIA graphics cards 550 have been added (branches 340, 390, and 470 continue to be available).
- A new version of the ROSA update indicator has been proposed, which supports various options for restricting access to update installations — prompting for an administrator password, prompting for passwords only from users, and no password required.
- The installer has automated disk partitioning when installing on encrypted disks, supporting the tpm2 technology for storing encryption passwords in non-volatile memory (luksunlock/lukslock commands).
- The ability to print and scan without prior driver installation is provided for printers supporting the IPP Everywhere protocol and for scanners supporting the WSD protocol. This capability is realized using the ipp-usb and sane-airscan packages.
- Support for 'sconfigs-*' packages with enhanced security and system audit settings has been added.
- A utility called qemoo has been proposed for quickly launching ISO images in the QEMU emulator.
- Component versions of user environments: KDE Frameworks 5.112.0, KDE Plasma 5.27.10, KDE Applications 23.08.04, Qt 5.15.10, gtk 4.7.2, GNOME 42, Firefox 124.0.1, Chromium 122, LibreOffice 7.6.5, Xfce 4.16, LXQt 1.4.
