Jolla Company release of the Sailfish operating system 3.0.3. The builds are prepared for the Jolla 1, Jolla C, Sony Xperia X, Gemini devices and are already available as an OTA update. Sailfish uses a graphical stack based on Wayland and Qt5 libraries, with the system environment built on Mer, which since April as a component of Sailfish, and the packages of the Mer distribution Nemo. The user interface, basic mobile applications, QML components for building the graphical interface Silica, the layer for running Android applications, the smart text input engine, and the data synchronization system are proprietary, but their code was planned to be opened back in 2017.

Also updated are iptables 1.8.2, pcre 8.42, shared-mime-info 1.12, util-linux 2.33.1, valgrind 3.14, zlib 1.2.11. For the Xperia XA2 device, initial support for NFC has been added, and a test environment for running Android applications based on Android 8.1 has been implemented. Remote device management tools (MDM, Device Management) have been expanded, APIs for connection control to mobile operators and management of access to traffic counters have been added.
