The server is designed for high-performance request processing, utilizing a multithreaded and predominantly non-blocking implementation, well-scalable on SMP systems. Features include the ability to add and remove zones on the fly, zone transfers between servers, DDNS (dynamic updates), NSID (RFC 5001), EDNS0 extensions, and DNSSEC (including NSEC3), as well as response rate limiting (RRL).
