Release of the lightweight HTTP server lighttpd 1.4.70 took place, which aims to combine high performance, security, standards compliance, and configurability. Lighttpd is suitable for use in high-load systems and focuses on low memory and CPU resource consumption. The project code is written in C and distributed under the BSD license.
Vigtige ændringer:
- The launch of CGI scripts has been accelerated in mod_cgi.
- Experimental support for building on the Windows platform has been provided.
- Preparation has been made to extract the code implementing HTTP/2 from the core server into a separate module mod_h2, which can be disabled if HTTP/2 support is not needed. Transitioning from the built-in implementation to mod_h2 is expected in one of the future releases.
- In proxy mode for HTTP/2, the ability to handle requests from multiple clients within a single connection has been implemented serveren and proxy (mod_extforward, mod_maxminddb).
- The assembly of separate dynamically loadable modules mod_access, mod_alias, mod_evhost, mod_expire, mod_fastcgi, mod_indexfile, mod_redirect, mod_rewrite, mod_scgi, mod_setenv, mod_simple_vhost, and mod_staticfile, whose functionality has been integrated into the main executable file (separate modules were not used in practice), has been discontinued.
