Today, October 26, 2023, the release of the electronic circuit simulator Qucs-S took place. The recommended simulation engine for Qucs-S is Ngspice.
Release 2.1.0 includes significant changes. Here is a list of the main ones.
- Added simulation in tuner mode (see screenshot), which allows adjusting component values with sliders and viewing results on graphs. A similar tool is available, for example, in AWR;
- Support for components defined in the frequency domain using s2p files has been added for Ngspice (requires Ngspice-41)
- Icons on the toolbar have been redesigned. SVG icons are now used for buttons, and component icons are generated dynamically. All this enhances the appearance for HiDPI.
- The dialog box displaying the simulation process has been redesigned.
- Creating a separate DPL file for diagrams is disabled by default. Now diagrams are placed on the schematic.
- A function for zooming in on a selected area of the schematic has been added.
- Several new passive components have been added.
- New libraries have been added: optoelectronic components and thyristors.
- The translation into Russian has been updated.
- Bugs have been fixed.
The complete list of changes and links to repositories for various distributions can be found on the release page.
