Komponenterne i milj\u00f8et er skrevet ved hj\u00e6lp af Qt5-biblioteket (uden brug af QML). Lumina f\u00f8lger en klassisk tilgang til organiseringen af brugergr\u00e6nsefladen. Det inkluderer et skrivebord, en applikationspanel, en sessionsadministrator, et applikationsmenu, et system til at indstille milj\u00f8parametre, en opgaveh\u00e5ndterer, en systembakke og et system <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/da\/vps\/abuzoustojchivye-vps\/\"   title=\"for virtuelle skriveborde\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1048\">for virtuelle skriveborde<\/a>. Projektets kode er skrevet i C++ og distribueres under BSD-licensen.    <\/p>\n<p>Fluxbox anvendes som vinduesmanager. Som en del af projektet udvikles ogs\u00e5 den egen filh\u00e5ndterer Insight, som har muligheder som fanest\u00f8tte for samtidig arbejde med flere biblioteker, opsamling af links til udvalgte biblioteker i bogm\u00e6rkesektionen, en indbygget multimediaafspiller og billedfremviser med slideshow-support, v\u00e6rkt\u00f8jer til at administrere ZFS-snapshots, og st\u00f8tte til tilslutning af eksterne plugin-behandlere.       <\/p>\n<p>Blandt \u00e6ndringerne i den nye udgave:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> V\u00e6rkt\u00f8jet Lumina-checkpass, der er beregnet til at kontrollere korrektheden af indtastede adgangskoder i applikationer s\u00e5som sk\u00e6rmsparer, er blevet deaktiveret.
