Projektets kode er skrevet i Python og distribueres under GPLv3-licensen.    <\/p>\n<p>Projektet underst\u00f8tter et katalog til hurtig s\u00f8gning og installation af spilapplikationer, der g\u00f8r det muligt at starte spil i Linux med et enkelt klik gennem en ensartet gr\u00e6nseflade, uden at man beh\u00f8ver at bekymre sig om installation af afh\u00e6ngigheder og indstillinger. Runtime-komponenterne til spilstart leveres af projektet og er uafh\u00e6ngige af den anvendte distribution. Runtime er en distributionsuafh\u00e6ngig samling af biblioteker, der inkluderer komponenter fra SteamOS og Ubuntu samt forskellige ekstra biblioteker.    <\/p>\n<p>Der tilbydes installationsmuligheder for spil distribueret via tjenesterne GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, Origin og Uplay. Lutris fungerer kun som en mellemmand og s\u00e6lger ikke spil, s\u00e5 brugeren skal selv k\u00f8be kommercielle spil fra den relevante tjeneste (gratis spil kan startes med \u00e9t klik fra Lutris' grafiske gr\u00e6nseflade).        <\/p>\n<p>Hvert spil i Lutris er knyttet til et startscript og en handler, der beskriver milj\u00f8et for at starte spillet.
