Deltagerne i det tekniske udvalg, der styrer udviklingen af Ubuntu, har godkendt optagelsen af Ubuntu Cinnamon, der tilbyder brugergr\u00e6nsefladen Cinnamon, som en officiel udgave af Ubuntu. Brugergr\u00e6nsefladen Cinnamon udvikles af f\u00e6llesskabet af udviklere fra Linux Mint-distributionen og er en fork af GNOME Shell, filh\u00e5ndtereren Nautilus og vinduesh\u00e5ndtereren Mutter.
