The Chrome OS user environment is limited to the web browser, using web applications instead of standard programs; however, Chrome OS includes a full multi-window interface, desktop, and taskbar. The source code is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. Chrome OS version 122 is available for most current Chromebook models. A version of Chrome OS Flex is offered for use on standard computers.       <\/p>\n<p>Key updates in Chrome OS 122:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> A Battery Saver mode has been added, which extends battery life by reducing screen brightness and keyboard backlighting, lowering the screen refresh rate, trimming CPU-intensive tasks, and disabling some background operations.
