Udgivet version 3.0 af Archinstall-installationsprogrammet, som siden april 2021 har v\u00e6ret en valgmulighed i installations-ISO-billederne af Arch Linux. Archinstall fungerer i konsoltilstand og kan bruges som erstatning for den standard tilbudte manuelle installationsmetode for distributionen. Koden til Archinstall er skrevet i Python og distribueres under GPLv3-licensen. <\/p>\n

Archinstall tilbyder en guidet (dialogbaseret) og automatiseret driftsmode. I den automatiserede tilstand er der mulighed for at bruge scripts til implementering af standardkonfigurationer. Installeren underst\u00f8tter ogs\u00e5 installationsprofiler, for eksempel profilen \u201edesktop\u201c til valg af skrivebord (KDE, GNOME, Awesome) og til installation af de n\u00f8dvendige pakker for at f\u00e5 det til at fungere, eller profilerne \u201ewebserver\u201c og \u201edatabase\u201c til valg og installation af kernekomponenterne til webservere og databasesystemer. For fire \u00e5r siden blev der gjort et fors\u00f8g p\u00e5 at skabe en version af Archinstall med grafisk brugerflade, men det fik ikke videre udvikling. <\/p>\n

I den nye version af Archinstall er brugerens konsolgr\u00e6nseflade helt redesignede og er blevet tilpasset brugen af Curses-biblioteket. Brug af Curses har gjort det muligt at forbedre udseendet, \u00f8ge brugervenligheden og realisere en mere kompleks layout af interfacelementerne, hvor der nu er et separat sk\u00e6rmomr\u00e5de med en konstant synlig menu. Derudover er der blevet arbejdet p\u00e5 at forbedre kodekvaliteten og udvide d\u00e6kningen ved test.
