Den foresl\u00e5ede l\u00f8sning er relevant til bek\u00e6mpelse af reklamer p\u00e5 enheder i hjemmenetv\u00e6rk, s\u00e5som smart-tv'er og mediecentre, samt til blokering af reklamer i mobilapplikationer p\u00e5 smartphones. Blokering i Pi-hole implementeres p\u00e5 DNS-niveau \u2014 systemet bruger en sortliste over dom\u00e6ner, der anvendes til at vise reklamer, og omdirigerer anmodninger til disse dom\u00e6ner til adressen 0.0.0.0. Projektets resultater distribueres under EUPL 1.2 (European Union Public License).    <\/p>\n<p>Det er nok at k\u00f8re et shell-script for at installere Pi-hole, som automatiserer download og installation af de n\u00f8dvendige komponenter. Installation underst\u00f8ttes i Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Raspberry Pi OS (Raspbian), Armbian og CentOS Stream til arkitekturerne x86_64, i386, ARM64, ARMv6, ARMv7 og RISC-V. Det antages, at Pi-hole kan installeres p\u00e5 boards som Raspberry Pi (Raspberry Pi Zero har tilstr\u00e6kkelig ydeevne til driften). Derudover tilbydes et forudkonfigureret containerbillede, der indeholder et klar-til-brug-milj\u00f8 baseret p\u00e5 Pi-hole.      <\/p>\n<p>Pi-hole k\u00f8rer DHCP- og DNS-servere, baseret p\u00e5 en modificeret version af dnsmasq. DHCP-serveren bruges til automatisk at overf\u00f8re DNS-serverindstillingerne, der er involveret i blokeringen. FTLDNS (pihole-FTL) er en baggrundsproces, der anvendes til at styre DNS-serveren og indsamle statistikker. Statistiken opbevares ved hj\u00e6lp af SQLite.      <\/p>\n<p>Over API, provided by FTLDNS, a web interface has been implemented for monitoring and managing blocks, based on AdminLTE code. The web interface is adapted for use on both large-screen computers and mobile devices.
