For Radeon-brugere p\u00e5 Linux er dette en vigtig begivenhed: frav\u00e6ret af FRL har l\u00e6nge hindret fuld funktionalitet i tilstande som 4K med h\u00f8j opdateringsfrekvens via HDMI p\u00e5 den \u00e5bne driver.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><noindex><\/p>\n<p>FRL er <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kitguru.net\/gaming\/joao-silva\/amd-submits-hdmi-2-1-frl-patches-for-open-source-linux-driver\/\">en dataoverf\u00f8rselsmekanisme<\/a> til HDMI 2.1, som erstatter begr\u00e6nsningerne fra den gamle TMDS-tilgang til HDMI 2.0. Tidligere havde AMD allerede fungerende kode, men kunne ikke offentligg\u00f8re implementeringen af HDMI 2.1 korrekt p\u00e5 den \u00e5bne driver p\u00e5 grund af krav fra HDMI Forum. I februar 2024 skrev AMD-ingeni\u00f8ren Alex Deutzer direkte, at offentlig implementering af HDMI 2.1 var umulig uden at bryde kravene fra HDMI Forum. Nu er situationen \u00e6ndret: AMD er begyndt at offentligg\u00f8re FRL-patches, DSC og relaterede \u00e6ndringer til AMDGPU.<\/p>\n<p><\/noindex><\/p>\n<p>I \u00f8jeblikket betyder implementeringen af st\u00f8tten ikke, at \"HDMI 2.1 fungerer fuldt ud i Linux\", men det er det f\u00f8rste reelle skridt mod det i den prim\u00e6re kerne.
