Projektet er baseret p\u00e5 rekonstruerede kildekoder fra versionen <strong>F-15 Strike Eagle II v451.03<\/strong> med tilf\u00f8jelsen <strong>Desert Storm Expansion Disk<\/strong> fra 1991.<\/p>\n<p>Projektets m\u00e5l er at bringe spillet til moderne arkitekturer, mens \u00e5nden fra originalen bevares og de tekniske aspekter forbedres. Som grafisk og vindueslag anvendes <strong>SDL3<\/strong>, til at gengive 3D-grafik \u2014 <strong>OpenGL<\/strong>, lyd fungerer via emulering af AdLib baseret p\u00e5 <strong>Nuked-OPL3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e5 nuv\u00e6rende tidspunkt kan spillet gennemf\u00f8res fuldt ud. Rendering og input er overf\u00f8rt til SDL3, lyden fungerer, joystick-support er tilg\u00e6ngelig, og grafikken vises gennem OpenGL.<\/p>\n<p>Hovedforbedringer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>begr\u00e6nsningen p\u00e5 15 billeder i sekundet er fjernet;<\/li>\n<li>spillogikken er adskilt fra rendering;<\/li>\n<li>styringen er blevet mere responsiv takket v\u00e6re begivenhedsh\u00e5ndtering gennem SDL3;<\/li>\n<li>underst\u00f8ttelse af moderne opl\u00f8sninger og widescreen er tilf\u00f8jet;<\/li>\n<li>billedet er blevet skarpere takket v\u00e6re OpenGL og anti-aliasing;<\/li>\n<li>synsafstand er \u00f8get;<\/li>\n<li>kortet, radar og m\u00e5lbliks vises nu i h\u00f8j opl\u00f8sning;<\/li>\n<li>luftm\u00e5l kan v\u00e6lges ligesom jordm\u00e5l;<\/li>\n<li>dele af problemer med rendering af 3D-objekter er blevet l\u00f8st;<\/li>\n<li>den gamle software-rendering kan aktiveres med F15_RENDER=software.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bygningen til Linux udf\u00f8res via CMake og Ninja. P\u00e5 Ubuntu er det nok at installere SDL3 og bygge projektet:<\/p>\n<p> sudo apt install libsdl3-dev cmake --preset base-ninja cmake --build build   <\/p>\n<p>Efter build skal den k\u00f8rbare fil placeres i mappen med spilkilderne eller angives via parameteren --game eller milj\u00f8variablen F15SE2_DIR.<\/p>\n<p>Projektet er stadig under udvikling, s\u00e5 der er stadig problemer, men det kan allerede bygges, startes og gennemspilles. For dem, der \u00f8nsker at forbedre gamle spil i C, kan dette ogs\u00e5 v\u00e6re et interessant eksempel p\u00e5 at portere et DOS-spil til en moderne stak.<\/p>\n<p>Planlagte forbedringer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>mere realistisk raketadf\u00e6rd;<\/li>\n<li>forbedring af missilafvisningsmetoder;<\/li>\n<li>mere st\u00e6rk kunstig intelligens for modstanderne;<\/li>\n<li>forbedring af kanonskydning;<\/li>\n<li>raketspor;<\/li>\n<li>mere detaljeret model for skader p\u00e5 flyet;<\/li>\n<li>indeholdende indstillingsmenu i spillet;<\/li>\n<li>forbedring af skyer, r\u00f8g, jord og vand;<\/li>\n<li>fuld 3D-kabine;<\/li>\n<li>scenarier og models editor;<\/li>\n<li>flerspiller-tilstand;<\/li>\n<li>tilbageport til 32-bit DOS;<\/li>\n<li>underst\u00f8ttelse af virtuel
