Samba 4 er et multifunktionelt serverprodukt, der ogs\u00e5 tilbyder implementering af filserver, printservice og identitetsserver (winbind). Projektkoden er skrevet i C og distribueres under GPLv3-licensen.      <\/p>\n<p>N\u00f8gle\u00e6ndringer i Samba 4.25:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Eksperimentel underst\u00f8ttelse af vedvarende filh\u00e5ndtag (SMB2_CAP_PERSISTENT_HANDLES) er blevet tilf\u00f8jet til implementeringen af SMB3-protokollen, hvilket g\u00f8r det muligt for klienter at forts\u00e6tte arbejdet med \u00e5bne filer efter afbrydelse af netv\u00e6rksforbindelsen, genstart eller skift af belastning til en backupserver. <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/da\/server\/dts-los-angeles\/\"   title=\"server\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">server<\/a> Vedvarende h\u00e5ndtag g\u00f8r det muligt at undg\u00e5 gen\u00e5bning af filer efter servernedbrud, hvilket er s\u00e6rligt relevant ved hosting af filer for virtuelle maskiner og klyngedatabaser. <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/da\/server\/dts-newyork\/\"   title=\"serveren\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">serveren<\/a> For at arbejde kr\u00e6ves eksklusiv adgang til SMB-lageret, og indstillingerne \"kernel oplocks\", \"kernel share modes\" og \"posix locking\" skal deaktiveres, hvilket bryder kompatibiliteten med POSIX og NFS og samtidig reducerer ydeevnen betydeligt p\u00e5 grund af synkron skrivning af metadata til disken ved hver operation. Two fault tolerance modes are proposed: full_outage (default) \u2014 a local backup of the state is created, allowing file descriptors to be preserved even after a complete cluster failure, but increasing the load; partial_outage \u2014 faster operation without a backup, but file descriptors are lost if all nodes in the cluster fail simultaneously.      <\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> A VFS module vfs_aio_ratelimit has been added, allowing the request intensity limit (rate limit) to be set, applicable within the entire cluster context, not just tied to individual nodes. To coordinate the global application of limits on each node, a background process ratelimitd must be running, aggregating the activity of all smbd processes on the node and relaying information to other nodes in the cluster. The enabling of vfs_aio_ratelimit is carried out at the build stage by specifying the &#171;&#8212;with-ratelimitd&#187; option.\n<li class=\"l\"> VFS-modulet vfs_ceph_rgw er tilf\u00f8jet til Ceph RGW (Object Gateway), hvilket muligg\u00f8r eksportering af data fra Ceph Object Gateway som SMB-lager med en hierarkisk visning af de gemte objekter i form af almindelige filer og mapper med adgangsopdeling p\u00e5 POSIX-niveau uid\/gid.\n<li class=\"l\"> Cluster funktionalitetsniveauer er implementeret, hvilket minder om niveauerne <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/da\/domain\/\"   title=\"dom\u00e6net\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">dom\u00e6net<\/a> and forests in Active Directory, allowing for a rolling upgrade of nodes in the cluster. The database formats and internal message exchange formats that affect node interaction are only changed after an explicit upgrade for the entire cluster, ensuring compatibility of nodes with different versions of Samba during the upgrade. Management is carried out through the commands &#171;net clusterlevel features|show|showall|upgrade&#187;.\n<li class=\"l\"> Til kryptering i dom\u00e6net anvendes som standard algoritmerne aes128-cts-hmac-sha1-96 og aes256-cts-hmac-sha1-96 for dom\u00e6ner med funktionalitetsniveau 2008 og h\u00f8jere. \u00c6ndringen forhindrer fremkomsten af s\u00e5rbarheden CVE-2026-20833, som skyldes brugen af usikre krypteringsmetoder i Windows Kerberos.\n<li class=\"l\"> I CTDB er filer med l\u00e5se, PID og sockets blevet flyttet til undermapper ctdb\/. Initieringsscriptet ctdb.init er flyttet til ctdb\/doc\/examples. Support til overv\u00e5gning af v\u00e6rter, s\u00e5som DNS-servere, er tilf\u00f8jet.
