Opgaverne, som distributionen udf\u00f8rer, ligner det propriet\u00e6re produkt Norton Ghost. St\u00f8rrelse <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/clonezilla\/files\/clonezilla_live_stable\/2.6.1-25\/\">iso-billede<\/a><\/noindex> distribution \u2014 260 MB (i686, amd64).<\/p>\n<p>Distributionen er baseret p\u00e5 Debian GNU\/Linux og bruger kode fra projekter som DRBL, Partition Image, ntfsclone, partclone, udpcast. Opstart er mulig fra CD\/DVD, USB Flash og netv\u00e6rk (PXE). LVM2 og filsystemer som ext2, ext3, ext4, reiserfs, xfs, jfs, FAT, NTFS, HFS+ (macOS), UFS, minix og VMFS (VMware ESX) underst\u00f8ttes. Der er en massekloningsfunktion via netv\u00e6rk, herunder med multicast, som muligg\u00f8r kloning af den oprindelige disk til mange klientmaskiner p\u00e5 \u00e9n gang. Kloning kan foretages fra \u00e9n disk til en anden, eller ved at oprette sikkerhedskopier ved at gemme et diskbillede i en fil.
