For eksempel kan en angriber bruge en URL som \u00abphar:\/\/\/path\/bad.phar\/..\/good.phar\u00bb til angrebet, og biblioteket vil ved kontrol udtr\u00e6kke basisnavnet \u00ab\/path\/good.phar\u00bb, selvom filen \u00ab\/path\/bad.phar\u00bb vil blive anvendt ved videre behandling af en s\u00e5dan sti.<\/p>\n<p>Biblioteket er udviklet af skaberne af CMS TYPO3, men anvendes ogs\u00e5 i projekter som Drupal og Joomla, hvilket g\u00f8r dem s\u00e5rbare. Problemet er blevet l\u00f8st i versioner <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/TYPO3\/phar-stream-wrapper\/releases\">PharStreamWrapper 2.1.1 og 3.1.1<\/a><\/noindex>. Drupal-projektet har l\u00f8st problemet i opdateringerne 7.67, 8.6.16 og 8.7.1. I Joomla optr\u00e6der problemet fra version 3.9.3 og er l\u00f8st i version 3.9.6. For at l\u00f8se problemet i TYPO3 skal biblioteket PharStreamWrapper opdateres.<\/p>\n<p>Praktisk set tillader s\u00e5rbarheden i PharStreamWrapper en bruger i Drupal Core med administratorrettigheder til temaer (\u2018Administer theme\u2019) at uploade en ondsindet phar-fil og f\u00e5 udf\u00f8rt den PHP-kode, der er placeret i den, under d\u00e6kke af et legitimt phar-arkiv. Husk, at essensen af angrebet \u00abPhar deserialization\u00bb er, at n\u00e5r der kontrolleres uploadede filer ved hj\u00e6lp af PHP-funktionen file_exists(), s\u00e5 udf\u00f8rer denne funktion automatisk deserialisering af metadata fra Phar-filer (PHP Archive) ved behandling af stier, der starter med \u00abphar:\/\/\/\u00bb. Overf\u00f8rsel af en phar-fil kan ske under d\u00e6kke af et billede, da funktionen file_exists() bestemmer MIME-typen ud fra indholdet, ikke fra filendelsen.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\"
