Ved oprettelsen af det nye system er der fokus p\u00e5 enkelhed i design og brug, fremfor fleksibilitet. Got er stadig under udvikling; det udvikles udelukkende p\u00e5 OpenBSD, og dets m\u00e5lgruppe er OpenBSD-udviklere. Koden distribueres under en fri licens <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ISC_license\">ISC<\/a><\/noindex> (\u00e6kvivalent med en forenklet BSD- og MIT-licens).<\/p>\n<p>Til opbevaring af versionsstyrede data i Got anvendes git-repositorier. I \u00f8jeblikket underst\u00f8ttes kun lokale versioneringsoperationer. Git kan dog bruges til enhver funktionalitet, der endnu ikke er implementeret i Got - det vil altid v\u00e6re muligt at arbejde med Got og Git i det samme repository.<\/p>\n<p>Det prim\u00e6re aktuelle <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/gameoftrees.org\/goals.html\">m\u00e5l<\/a><\/noindex> for projektet er at interagere med udviklere fra OpenBSD, som \u00f8nsker at bruge got regelm\u00e6ssigt i deres arbejde p\u00e5 OpenBSD, og forbedre versioneringsoperationer baseret p\u00e5 deres feedback.<\/p>\n<p>Projektets grundl\u00e6ggende principper:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\">
