Sammenlignet med xz-algoritmen vil brugen af zstd accelerere komprimerings- og dekomprimeringsoperationer, samtidig med at komprimeringsniveauet bevares. Som f\u00f8lge heraf vil overgangen til zstd f\u00f8re til en \u00f8get installationshastighed for pakker.<\/p>\n<p>Underst\u00f8ttelse af pakke-komprimering ved hj\u00e6lp af zstd vil v\u00e6re tilg\u00e6ngelig i udgaven  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/archlinux.2023198.n4.nabble.com\/pacman-dev-f2051736.html\">pacman 5.2<\/a><\/noindex>, men for at installere s\u00e5danne pakker kr\u00e6ves en version af libarchive, der underst\u00f8tter zstd. Derfor anbefales brugerne at installere libarchive i det mindste version 3.3.3-1 (pakken med denne version blev forberedt for et \u00e5r siden, s\u00e5 det er sandsynligt, at den n\u00f8dvendige udgave af libarchive allerede er installeret).
