Som man siger, er GNU\/Linux godt til det, at man kan tilpasse den velkendte Windows-lignende gr\u00e6nseflade, eller man kan lave noget us\u00e6dvanligt og unikt.<\/p>\n

For fans of \"retro\", there's good news \u2014 making your computer resemble those old-fashioned warm tube computers from the early 90s has become even easier.<\/p>\n

Ikke s\u00e5 almindeligt skrivebordsmilj\u00f8<\/strong>, eller kort sagt NsCDE<\/strong> \u2014 this is the modern version of the well-known old-school CDE environment, which was long regarded as classic for Unix-like operating systems.<\/p>\n

CDE<\/strong> eller Common Desktop Environment<\/strong> \u2014 this is a desktop environment for Unix and OpenVMS, built on the Motif widget toolkit. For a long time, CDE was considered the \"classic\" environment for Unix systems. CDE had been proprietary software for a long time, and the source code of this popular 90s environment was only made publicly available in August 2012. Of course, they no longer hold any practical interest, as CDE has become irretrievably outdated in terms of its capabilities and usability.<\/p>\n

Projektet er baseret p\u00e5 FVWM<\/strong>, udvidet med patches og udvidelser, der er n\u00f8dvendige for at genskabe CDE-gr\u00e6nsefladen. Indstillingerne og patches er skrevet p\u00e5 Python<\/strong> og Shell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Udviklerne sigtede mod at skabe et brugervenligt skrivebordsmilj\u00f8 i retro-stil, der underst\u00f8tter moderne software og teknologi, og som ikke for\u00e5rsager ubehag under brug.
