The record was set by the Belgian enthusiast Massman, who was part of a team assembled by ASUS.<\/p>\n

After liquid nitrogen, overclockers switched to experiments using a colder substance — liquid helium. Its boiling point approaches absolute zero at -269 °C, whereas nitrogen boils «only» at -195.8 °C. It is no surprise that liquid helium allows for much lower temperatures for the cooled chips, but its usage is complicated by high costs and rapid evaporation. This is why enthusiasts had to ensure a continuous supply of helium to the copper cup on the processor.<\/p>\n

As a result, the Swedish enthusiast known as elmor managed to achieve an impressive frequency of 7707.62 MHz on the Core i9-10900K, with the chip retaining the activity of all ten cores and Hyper-Threading technology. It\u2019s worth noting that this is a very high benchmark, especially considering that the current overclocking record for the previous Core i9-9900K is 7612.19 MHz, and for the Core i9-9900KS, it is only 7478.02 MHz.<\/p>\n

The experimenters were provided by ASUS with their own motherboards, specially designed for extreme overclocking — the new ASUS ROG Maximus XII Apex on the Intel Z490 chipset. Also, only one G.Skill Trident Z RGB RAM module was used in the test system.<\/p>\n
