Eine neue Version der Python-Bibliothek plotly.py 5.0 ist verf\u00fcgbar, die Werkzeuge zur Datenvisualisierung und f\u00fcr verschiedene Arten von Statistiken bereitstellt. Zum Zeichnen wird die Bibliothek plotly.js verwendet, die \u00fcber 30 Typen von 2D- und 3D-Diagrammen, Charts und Karten unterst\u00fctzt (das Ergebnis wird als Bild oder HTML-Datei f\u00fcr die interaktive Anzeige im Browser gespeichert). Der Code von plotly.py wird unter der MIT-Lizenz verbreitet.

In der neuen Ausgabe wird die Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr Python 2.7 und Python 3.5 eingestellt, jetzt ist mindestens Python 3.6 erforderlich. Es wurden nicht abw\u00e4rtskompatible \u00c4nderungen vorgenommen, einschlie\u00dflich der Entfernung gro\u00dfer Mengen veralteter Funktionen, \u00c4nderungen der Standardwerte und der Einstellung der Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr die Browser Internet Explorer 9\/10. Die Bibliothek Plotly.js wurde von Version 1.58.4 auf 2.1 aktualisiert. Ein neues Add-on zur Integration mit JupyterLab wurde implementiert. Die Leistung bei der Serialisierung von Daten im JSON-Format wurde um das 5- bis 10-Fache gesteigert. Es wurde die M\u00f6glichkeit hinzugef\u00fcgt, Balkendiagramme mit Texturen zu f\u00fcllen, und es wurde ein neuer Diagrammtyp vorgeschlagen \u2013 \u201eicicle\u201c, ein rechteckliches Pendant zu Kreisdiagrammen zur anschaulichen Bewertung der Gr\u00f6\u00dfenunterschiede.
