Die neue Version der Python-Bibliothek plotly.py 5.0 ist jetzt verf\u00fcgbar und bietet Werkzeuge zur Datenvisualisierung und verschiedenen Arten von Statistiken. F\u00fcr die Darstellung wird die Bibliothek plotly.js verwendet, die \u00fcber 30 Typen von 2D- und 3D-Diagrammen, Graphen und Karten unterst\u00fctzt (das Ergebnis kann als Bild oder HTML-Datei gespeichert werden, um interaktiv im Browser angezeigt zu werden). Der Code von plotly.py wird unter der MIT-Lizenz verteilt.

In der neuen Ausgabe wird die Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr Python 2.7 und Python 3.5 eingestellt; ab jetzt ist mindestens Python 3.6 erforderlich. Es wurden inkompatible \u00c4nderungen vorgenommen, darunter die Entfernung einer Vielzahl von veralteten Funktionen, Anpassungen der Standardwerte und die Einstellung der Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr die Browser Internet Explorer 9\/10. Die Plotly.js-Bibliothek wurde von Version 1.58.4 auf 2.1 aktualisiert. Ein neues Add-on zur Integration mit JupyterLab wurde implementiert. Die Leistung beim Serialisieren von Daten im JSON-Format wurde um das 5- bis 10-fache erh\u00f6ht. Zudem wurde die M\u00f6glichkeit hinzugef\u00fcgt, Balkendiagramme mit Texturen zu f\u00fcllen, und ein neuer Diagrammtyp \u2013 \u201eIcicle\u201c \u2013 wurde vorgeschlagen, ein rechteckliches Pendant zu Kreisdiagrammen zur anschaulichen Bewertung von Gr\u00f6\u00dfenunterschieden.
