Im eBPF-Subsystem, das die Ausf\u00fchrung von Handlern innerhalb des Linux-Kernels in einer speziellen JIT-VM erm\u00f6glicht, wurde eine Schwachstelle entdeckt (CVE-2021-3600), die es einem lokalen nicht privilegierten Benutzer erlaubt, seinen Code im Linux-Kernel auszuf\u00fchren. Das Problem entsteht durch die fehlerhafte Trunkierung von 32-Bit-Registern bei der Ausf\u00fchrung der Operationen \u201ediv\u201c und \u201emod\u201c, was zu einem Lese- und Schreibzugriff auf Daten au\u00dferhalb des zugewiesenen Speicherbereichs f\u00fchren kann. <\/p>\n

Die Schwachstelle wurde in einem fehlerhaften Patch f\u00fcr die 32-Bit-Division durch Null in Release 4.15 eingef\u00fchrt, das auch in die Branches 4.4.x, 4.9.x und 4.14.x zur\u00fcckportiert wurde. Die Ausnutzung der Schwachstelle ist f\u00fcr Kerne ab Version 4.14 m\u00f6glich, in der die Methode zur Verfolgung von Werten im BPF-Validator ge\u00e4ndert wurde. Das Problem wurde in Kernel Linux 5.11 behoben. Der Patch wurde in die Branches 5.10.x und 5.4.x zur\u00fcckportiert, aber nicht in die Branches 4.19.x und 4.14.x \u00fcbernommen. Ein Update mit dem Patch f\u00fcr die Schwachstelle wurde f\u00fcr Ubuntu und Debian Sid ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Ob das Problem auch in SUSE und RHEL auftritt, ist derzeit unklar.
