Im eBPF-Subsystem, das es erm\u00f6glicht, Handler innerhalb des Linux-Kernels in einer speziellen virtuellen Maschine mit JIT auszuf\u00fchren, wurde eine Schwachstelle (CVE-2021-3600) entdeckt, die es einem lokalen nicht privilegierten Benutzer erm\u00f6glicht, die Ausf\u00fchrung seines Codes auf Kernel-Ebene zu erreichen. Das Problem entsteht durch eine fehlerhafte Beschneidung von 32-Bit-Registern bei der Durchf\u00fchrung von 'div'- und 'mod'-Operationen, was zu einem Lesen und Schreiben von Daten au\u00dferhalb des zugewiesenen Speichers f\u00fchren kann. <\/p>\n

Die Sicherheitsanf\u00e4lligkeit wurde im fehlerhaften Fix f\u00fcr die 32-Bit-Division durch Null in Version 4.15 eingef\u00fchrt, die auch in die Zweige 4.4.x, 4.9.x und 4.14.x zur\u00fcckportiert wurde. Die Ausnutzung der Schwachstelle ist f\u00fcr Kernel ab Version 4.14 m\u00f6glich, in der die Methode zur Verfolgung der Werte im BPF-Verifier ge\u00e4ndert wurde. Das Problem wurde im Linux-Kernel 5.11 behoben. Der Fix wurde in die Zweige 5.10.x und 5.4.x zur\u00fcckportiert, aber nicht in die Zweige 4.19.x und 4.14.x \u00fcbernommen. Ein Update mit dem Fix f\u00fcr die Sicherheitsanf\u00e4lligkeit wurde f\u00fcr Ubuntu und Debian Sid ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Ob das Problem auch in SUSE und RHEL auftritt, ist bisher unklar.
