Die Distribution ist vollst\u00e4ndig bin\u00e4r kompatibel und in ihrer Funktionalit\u00e4t identisch mit RHEL 8.4 und kann als transparente Alternative zu RHEL 8 und CentOS 8 genutzt werden. ISO-Images mit Gr\u00f6\u00dfen von 1,6 GB und 4,2 GB stehen zum Download bereit. <\/p>\n

Virtuozzo Linux wird als Ersatz f\u00fcr CentOS 8 positioniert, der bereit f\u00fcr den produktiven Einsatz ist. Zuvor wurde die Distribution als Basis-Betriebssystem f\u00fcr die von Virtuozzo entwickelte Virtualisierungsplattform und verschiedene kommerzielle Produkte verwendet. Nun wird Virtuozzo Linux ohne Einschr\u00e4nkungen angeboten, ist kostenlos und entwickelt sich mit der Beteiligung der Community weiter. Der Support-Zyklus entspricht dem Ver\u00f6ffentlichungszyklus f\u00fcr RHEL 8. <\/p>\n

Neben VzLinux werden auch AlmaLinux (entwickelt von CloudLinux in Zusammenarbeit mit der Gemeinschaft), Rocky Linux (entwickelt von der Community unter der Leitung des Gr\u00fcnders von CentOS mit Unterst\u00fctzung des neu gegr\u00fcndeten Unternehmens Ctrl IQ) und Oracle Linux als Alternativen zu klassischem CentOS 8 positioniert.
