Das Betriebssystem OpenVMS wird seit 1977 weiterentwickelt und kommt in ausfallsicheren Systemen zum Einsatz, die eine hohe Zuverl\u00e4ssigkeit erfordern. Zuvor war es nur f\u00fcr die Architekturen VAX, Alpha und Intel Itanium verf\u00fcgbar. Interessanterweise waren die Versuche, OpenVMS Ende der 1980er Jahre auf x86-Systeme zu portieren, aufgrund von Finanzierungsstopps nicht erfolgreich, nach denen der Port-Autor zu Microsoft wechselte und Windows NT entwickelte.      <\/p>\n<p>Der vorgeschlagene Port von OpenVMS f\u00fcr die x86-64-Architektur unterst\u00fctzt neben der Installation auf echter Hardware auch die Nutzung in <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/de\/vps\/abuzoustojchivye-vps\/\"   title=\"virtuellen Maschinen wurde vereinfacht.\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"4257\">virtuellen Maschinen wurde vereinfacht.<\/a> KVM, VMware und VirtualBox. Der Port basiert auf denselben Quelltexten von OpenVMS, die auch in den Versionen f\u00fcr die Architekturen Alpha und Itanium verwendet werden, mit bedingter Kompilierung, die hardwareabh\u00e4ngige Funktionen ersetzt.    <\/p>\n<p>Der OpenVMS-Code wurde angepasst, um mit LLVM anstelle des propriet\u00e4ren GEM-Compilers zu arbeiten, der f\u00fcr die Kompilierung von Ports f\u00fcr Alpha und Itanium verwendet wurde (ein spezieller \u00dcbersetzer wurde entwickelt, um GEM IR in LLVM IR zu spiegeln, w\u00e4hrend Clang f\u00fcr die Kompilierung von C++-Code f\u00fcr OpenVMS angepasst wurde). Zur Erkennung und Initialisierung der Hardware kommen UEFI und ACPI zum Einsatz, w\u00e4hrend zum Booten ein RAM-Disk verwendet wird, anstelle des speziellen VMS-Bootmechanismus, der hardware-spezifisch ist. Um die fehlenden Berechtigungsstufen von VAX, Alpha und Itanium, die in x86-64-Systemen fehlen, zu emulieren, wird im OpenVMS-Kernel das SWIS (Software Interrupt Services)-Modul eingesetzt.<br
