Im NPM-Repository gibt es einen weiteren massiven Ausfall von Projekten aufgrund von Problemen in einer neuen Version eines der beliebten Abh\u00e4ngigkeiten. Die Quelle der Probleme ist die neue Version des Pakets mini-css-extract-plugin 2.5.0, das zum Extrahieren von CSS in separate Dateien gedacht ist. Das Paket hat mehr als 10 Millionen w\u00f6chentliche Downloads und wird als direkte Abh\u00e4ngigkeit in mehr als 7.000 Projekten verwendet. <\/p>\n

In der neuen Version wurden \u00c4nderungen eingef\u00fchrt, die die R\u00fcckw\u00e4rtskompatibilit\u00e4t beim Import der Bibliothek beeintr\u00e4chtigten und zu einem Fehler f\u00fchrten, wenn versucht wurde, eine zuvor zul\u00e4ssige und in der Dokumentation beschriebene Konstruktion «const MiniCssExtractPlugin = require(‘mini-css-extract-plugin’)» zu verwenden. Bei der Umstellung auf die neue Version musste dies durch «const MiniCssExtractPlugin = require(«mini-css-extract-plugin»).default» ersetzt werden. <\/p>\n

Das Problem trat in Projekten auf, die keine explizite Versionierung beim Hinzuf\u00fcgen von Abh\u00e4ngigkeiten verwendeten. Als Workaround zur L\u00f6sung des Problems wird empfohlen, die Version auf die vorherige Version 2.4.5 festzulegen, indem ‘»overrides»: {«mini-css-extract-plugin»: «2.4.5»}’ in Yarn hinzugef\u00fcgt wird oder der Befehl «npm i -D —save-exact mini-css-extract-plugin@2.4.5» in NPM verwendet wird. <\/p>\n

Zu den Betroffenen geh\u00f6ren Nutzer des von Facebook entwickelten Pakets create-react-app, das mini-css-extract-plugin als Abh\u00e4ngigkeit einbindet. Wegen des Fehlens einer Versionierungsbindung f\u00fchrten Versuche, create-react-app zu starten, zu der Fehlermeldung «TypeError: MiniCssExtractPlugin is not a constructor». Das Problem betraf auch die Pakete @wordpress\/scripts, @auth0\/auth0-spa-js, sql-formatter-gui, LedgerSMB, vip-go-mu-plugins, cybros, vue-cli, chore usw.
