Die neue Version zeichnet sich durch die Integration von Wi-Fi-Unterst\u00fctzung (2,4 GHz 802.11n) aus, die auf dem Infineon CYW43439-Chip basiert. Der Chip CYW43439 unterst\u00fctzt zudem Bluetooth Classic und Bluetooth Low Energy, welche jedoch derzeit auf der Platine nicht aktiviert sind. Der Preis der neuen Platine betr\u00e4gt 6 US-Dollar, was zwei Dollar mehr als die erste Variante ausmacht. Auf der Platine sind 2 MB Flash-Speicher untergebracht, der Chip unterst\u00fctzt jedoch eine Erweiterung auf bis zu 16 MB. F\u00fcr Ein- und Ausg\u00e4nge sind GPIO-Ports (30 Pins, davon 4 f\u00fcr analoge Eing\u00e4nge reserviert), UART, I2C, SPI, USB (Client und Host mit Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr das Booten von Speichermedien im UF2-Format) sowie spezialisierte 8-Pin-PIO (Programmable I\/O State Machines) f\u00fcr den Anschluss eigener Peripherieger\u00e4te vorgesehen. Die Stromversorgung kann im Bereich von 1,8 bis 5,5 Volt erfolgen, was den Einsatz verschiedener Energiequellen erm\u00f6glicht, einschlie\u00dflich zweier oder dreier handels\u00fcblicher AA-Batterien oder typischer Lithium-Ionen-Akkus.        <\/p>\n<p>F\u00fcr die Entwicklung von Anwendungen k\u00f6nnen die Programmiersprachen C, C++ oder MicroPython verwendet werden. Der MicroPython-Port f\u00fcr den Raspberry Pi Pico wurde zusammen mit dem Projektautor erstellt und unterst\u00fctzt alle Funktionen des Chips, einschlie\u00dflich der eigenen Erweiterungsschnittstelle PIO. F\u00fcr die Entwicklung auf dem RP2040-Chip wurde die integrierte Entwicklungsumgebung Thonny f\u00fcr MicroPython angepasst. Die M\u00f6glichkeiten des Chips reichen aus, um Anwendungen f\u00fcr maschinelles Lernen zu erstellen, f\u00fcr die ein Port des TensorFlow Lite Frameworks vorbereitet wurde.
