Das Ziel des Projekts ist die Schaffung einer einfachen und transparenten Distribution, die auf BSD-\u00e4hnlichen Init-Skripten basiert, eine m\u00f6glichst vereinfachte Struktur aufweist und relativ wenige vorgefertigte Bin\u00e4rpakete enth\u00e4lt. CRUX unterst\u00fctzt ein Ports-System, das die Installation und Aktualisierung von Anwendungen im Stil von FreeBSD\/Gentoo erleichtert. Die ISO-Dateigr\u00f6\u00dfe f\u00fcr die Architektur x86-64 betr\u00e4gt 1,1 GB.    <\/p>\n<p>Im neuen Release wurden die Versionen der Systemkomponenten aktualisiert, einschlie\u00dflich des Linux-Kernels 5.15, glibc 2.36, gcc 12.2.0 und binutils 2.39. Standardm\u00e4\u00dfig wird weiterhin eine Umgebung auf Basis des X-Servers (xorg-server 21.1.4, Mesa 22.2) mitgeliefert, jedoch ist auch die Nutzung des Wayland-Protokolls optional verf\u00fcgbar. Das ISO-Abbild wurde in einem hybriden Format erstellt, das sowohl f\u00fcr das Booten von DVD- als auch USB-Medien geeignet ist.
