F\u00fcr das offene Betriebssystem Haiku, das die Ideen von BeOS weiterentwickelt, wurde eine Schicht zur Sicherstellung der Kompatibilit\u00e4t mit Wayland vorbereitet. Diese erm\u00f6glicht das Ausf\u00fchren von Toolkits und Anwendungen, die dieses Protokoll verwenden, einschlie\u00dflich Anwendungen, die auf der GTK-Bibliothek basieren. Die Schicht wurde von Ilja Chugin entwickelt, der auch mit dem Port von Haiku f\u00fcr die RISC-V-Architektur und der Anpassung von Wine f\u00fcr Haiku besch\u00e4ftigt ist. <\/p>\n

F\u00fcr Tests sind im Repository haikuware fertige Pakete mit GTK3, GIMP, Inkscape, Epiphany (GNOME Web), Claws-mail, AbiWord und HandBrake verf\u00fcgbar.

Fr\u00fcher hat ein anderer Entwickler bereits eine erste Implementierung der Schicht zur Sicherstellung der Kompatibilit\u00e4t mit der Xlib-Bibliothek f\u00fcr Haiku vorbereitet, die das Ausf\u00fchren von X11-Anwendungen in Haiku ohne Verwendung eines X-Servers erm\u00f6glicht. Die Schicht wurde durch die Emulation von Xlib-Funktionen mittels der \u00dcbersetzung von Aufrufen in die hochgradig grafische API von Haiku umgesetzt.
