Angriffe auf Implementierungen von Krypto-Prozessoren, die den verwundbaren Code verwenden, k\u00f6nnen zur Extraktion oder \u00dcberschreibung von Informationen f\u00fchren, die auf dem Chip gespeichert sind, wie z.B. kryptografische Schl\u00fcssel. Die M\u00f6glichkeit, Daten im TPM-Flash neu zu schreiben, k\u00f6nnte von einem Angreifer ausgenutzt werden, um die Ausf\u00fchrung seines eigenen Codes im Kontext von TPM zu organisieren, was beispielsweise zur Implementierung von Backdoors verwendet werden kann, die im TPM funktionieren und von dem Betriebssystem nicht erkannt werden.        <\/p>\n<p>Die Schwachstellen werden durch eine fehlerhafte \u00dcberpr\u00fcfung der Gr\u00f6\u00dfe der Parameter der Funktion CryptParameterDecryption() verursacht, die das Schreiben oder Lesen von zwei Bytes au\u00dferhalb des Puffers zul\u00e4sst, der in die Funktion ExecuteCommand() \u00fcbergeben wird und den Befehl TPM2.0 enth\u00e4lt. Abh\u00e4ngig von der Implementierung des Flash-Speichers kann das \u00dcberschreiben der beiden Bytes sowohl ungenutzten Speicher als auch Daten oder Zeiger im Stack besch\u00e4digen.    <\/p>\n<p>Die Ausnutzung der Schwachstelle erfolgt durch das Senden von speziell formatierten Befehlen an das TPM-Modul (der Angreifer muss Zugriff auf die TPM-Schnittstelle haben). Die Probleme wurden im im Januar ver\u00f6ffentlichten Update der TPM 2.0-Spezifikation behoben (1.59 Errata 1.4, 1.38 Errata 1.13, 1.16 Errata 1.6).          <\/p>\n<p>Die Schwachstellen betreffen auch die offene Bibliothek libtpms, die f\u00fcr die softwarebasierte Emulation von TPM-Modulen und die Integration der TPM-Unterst\u00fctzung in Hypervisoren verwendet wird.
