Die erste Version der Multimedia-Bibliothek LDL (Little DirectMedia Layer) ist jetzt verf\u00fcgbar, entwickelt f\u00fcr den Einsatz auf veralteter Hardware. Die Bibliothek bietet eine einfache, plattform\u00fcbergreifende API f\u00fcr die Arbeit mit 2D-Grafik, Fensterverwaltung und Betriebssystemereignissen, geeignet f\u00fcr die Entwicklung einfacher Spiele und Multimedia-Anwendungen. Praktisch wird die Bibliothek bereits bei der Entwicklung einer alternativen offenen Spiele-Engine f\u00fcr das Spiel Arcanum verwendet. Der Projektcode ist in C++ 98 geschrieben und unter der BSL 1.0 (Boost Software License) Lizenz verf\u00fcgbar. <\/p>\n

Der Autor legt gro\u00dfen Wert auf die Optimierung der Bibliothek f\u00fcr veraltete Plattformen und die Schaffung einer einheitlichen portablen C++ API, die in verschiedenen Betriebssystemen verwendet werden kann (zus\u00e4tzlich wird eine API f\u00fcr Programme in C bereitgestellt). Derzeit wird die Verwendung unter Linux (Debian 3+) und Windows (Windows 95+) unterst\u00fctzt. <\/p>\n

Die Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr GPU-Rendering unter Verwendung von OpenGL 1.2 und OpenGL 3.0 sowie Software-Rendering durch die CPU ist verf\u00fcgbar. Die Rendering-Methode kann w\u00e4hrend der Ausf\u00fchrung der Anwendung dynamisch ge\u00e4ndert werden. Unter Linux wird XLib unterst\u00fctzt, aber es wird auch an der Unterst\u00fctzung des Wayland-Protokolls gearbeitet. Es werden Funktionen zur Klangbearbeitung bereitgestellt. Die Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr verschiedene Bildformat-Uploads (bmp, png, tga, jpg) ist gew\u00e4hrleistet. <\/p>\n

In Zukunft ist geplant, Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr das Rendering \u00fcber Direct3D 9\/10\/11, Streaming Audio, die Textausgabe unter Verwendung der Freetype-Bibliothek, API f\u00fcr die Arbeit mit Threads und Netzwerken hinzuzuf\u00fcgen. Auch eine Portierung auf die Plattformen Android, iOS und macOS ist in Planung.
