Die DB-Engines-Edition hat ihr Ranking der Beliebtheit von Datenbankmanagementsystemen aktualisiert und den Titel des Datenbankmanagementsystems des Jahres 2023 dem Projekt PostgreSQL verliehen, das im vergangenen Jahr das gr\u00f6\u00dfte Wachstum an Beliebtheit aus den 417 \u00fcberwachten Systemen gezeigt hat. Den zweiten Platz belegt die Cloud-Plattform Databricks, die im vergangenen Jahr von Platz 19 auf Platz 17 im Ranking gestiegen ist, w\u00e4hrend der Drittplatzierte Google BigQuery von Platz 21 auf Platz 19 vorger\u00fcckt ist. <\/p>\n

PostgreSQL wurde bereits 2020, 2018 und 2017 als Datenbank des Jahres ausgezeichnet. In den Jahren 2022 und 2021 ging dieser Titel an die Datenbank Snowflake, 2019 an MySQL, 2016 an Microsoft SQL Server, 2015 an Oracle sowie 2013 und 2014 an MongoDB. <\/p>\n

Die Methodik zur Berechnung des Rankings von Datenbankmanagementsystemen \u00e4hnelt dem TIOBE-Ranking der Programmiersprachen und ber\u00fccksichtigt die Beliebtheit von Suchanfragen bei Suchmaschinen, die Anzahl der Ergebnisse in den Suchergebnissen, das Volumen der Diskussionen in beliebten Foren und sozialen Netzwerken, die Anzahl der Stellenangebote in Personalvermittlungsagenturen sowie die Erw\u00e4hnungen in Benutzerprofilen. <\/p>\n

In Bezug auf die Verteilung der Datenbanken im Ranking belegt PostgreSQL weiterhin den 4. Platz, trotz des gr\u00f6\u00dften Anstiegs der Beliebtheit im gesamten Ranking \u2013 34,11 Punkte. Auch die Projekte Databricks (+19,7 Punkte, Aufstieg von Platz 19 auf 17), Google BigQuery (+9 Punkte, von 21 auf 19) und Snowflake (+8,66 Punkte, von 11 auf 9) zeigen einen Anstieg der Beliebtheit. Das Speichersystem Elasticsearch stieg von 8 auf 7, die Datenbank Firebird von 33 auf 29, ClickHouse von 44 auf 37, Prometheus von 62 auf 50, OpenSearch von 48 auf 42 und TimescaleDB von 85 auf 76. <\/p>\n

Ein signifikanter R\u00fcckgang der Beliebtheit innerhalb eines Jahres ist bei MySQL (-88,5 Punkte), Microsoft SQL Server (-42,79), MongoDB (-37,70), Redis (-18,17) und SQLite (-16,29) zu beobachten. Die Datenbank IBM Db2 fiel von 7 auf 8, SQLite von 10 auf 11, CouchDB von 43 auf 45 und CockroachDB von 57 auf 60.
