Beispielsweise werden auf Intel Emerald Rapids CPUs CPUID-Operationen 3-4 Mal langsamer ausgef\u00fchrt als auf Intel Skylake CPUs. Dieses Merkmal f\u00fchrte zu einem R\u00fcckgang der KVM-Hypervisor-Leistung, der CPUID im Prozess des Speicherns und Wiederherstellens des CPU-Zustands bei jeder \u00dcbergabe der Kontrolle an die virtuelle Maschine, insbesondere bei der Verwendung von Nested Virtualization, verwendet. Um das Problem zu l\u00f6sen, wurde ein verk\u00fcrzter Patch in den Kernel 6.13 aufgenommen, der die Operationszeit selbst auf CPUs der Skylake-Familie um bis zu 40 % verk\u00fcrzt, dank der Cache-Implementierung f\u00fcr CPUID. In Kernel 6.14 wird die vollst\u00e4ndige Version des Patches vorgestellt, die die Leistung weiter verbessert.      <\/p>\n<p>Dar\u00fcber hinaus kann erw\u00e4hnt werden, dass in der Mailingliste der Linux-Kernel-Entwickler eine Diskussion \u00fcber die Einstellung der Unterst\u00fctzung von 32-Bit-Systemen im Hypervisor stattfand. <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/de\/vps\/abuzoustojchivye-vps\/\"   title=\"KVM\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"4435\">KVM<\/a>. Urspr\u00fcnglich wurde ein Patch f\u00fcr den Kernel vorgeschlagen, der die Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr KVM-Virtualisierung auf der x86-32-Plattform entfernt. Als Reaktion \u00e4u\u00dferten einige Bedenken, dass die Unterst\u00fctzung von x86-32 n\u00fctzlich sein k\u00f6nnte, um die Funktionsweise des Host-Modus allgemein auf 32-Bit-Systemen zu testen, da im Kernel neben x86-32 noch drei weitere 32-Bit-Architekturen unterst\u00fctzt werden, die in KVM integriert sind. Daraufhin wurde ein weiterer Patch vorgestellt, der diesmal die Unterst\u00fctzung aller 32-Bit-Systeme aus KVM entfernt.    <\/p>\n<p>Der Wunsch, die Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr 32-Bit-Systeme loszuwerden, erkl\u00e4rt sich dadurch, dass selbst auf g\u00e4ngigen 32-Bit-ARM-Prozessoren wie dem ARM Cortex A7 die Virtualisierung nicht vorangekommen ist und die Verwendung <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/de\/vps\/\"   title=\"virtuellen Maschinen\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"2194\">virtuellen Maschinen<\/a> auf 32-Bit-ARM-Systemen so selten war, dass die Unterst\u00fctzung dieser Systeme im Jahr 2020 aus KVM entfernt wurde, ohne dass dies zu Widerspr\u00fcchen f\u00fchrte. Es wird angemerkt, dass f\u00fcr andere 32-Bit-Systeme die \u00c4nderungen nur exotische Plattformen betreffen, die seit langem nicht mehr in der Praxis verwendet werden oder nie popul\u00e4r waren. Zu den Prozessoren, die von dem Patch betroffen sind, geh\u00f6ren: Intel Core Duo\/Silverthorne, PowerPC e300\/e500\/e600 und MIPS P5600.
