Das Ubuntu-Projekt wird ab dem 1. M\u00e4rz Matrix als offizielle Kommunikationsplattform f\u00fcr Entwickler nutzen. Die bisher verwendeten Kommunikationskan\u00e4le im IRC wurden als veraltet eingestuft. In einer von Canonical durchgef\u00fchrten Abstimmung sprachen sich 10 Entwickler f\u00fcr den Wechsel zu Matrix aus, 1 war dagegen und 6 baten um eine \u00f6ffentliche Diskussion. Eine Diskussion \u00fcber die Notwendigkeit, auf Matrix zu migrieren, fand in der Mailingliste ubuntu-devel statt, wonach das technische Komitee (Ubuntu Technical Board) die Entscheidung zur Migration traf. <\/p>\n

Offizielle Kommunikation, wie z. B. Echtzeitanfragen an privilegierte Entwicklerteams von Ubuntu, wird nun ausschlie\u00dflich \u00fcber Matrix erfolgen. Die Mitarbeiter von Canonical, die an der Entwicklung von Ubuntu beteiligt sind, sind verpflichtet, w\u00e4hrend ihrer Arbeitszeit auf dieser Plattform pr\u00e4sent zu sein.
