Newsraft ist dazu gedacht, Inhalte aus verschiedenen Blogs und Plattformen zu beziehen und sie \u00fcber eine einheitliche Schnittstelle anzuzeigen, die auf der ncurses-Bibliothek basiert. Das Projekt ist von den Ideen des Programms Newsboat inspiriert, stellt jedoch eine eigenst\u00e4ndige Entwicklung dar und wird als dessen leichtgewichtige Alternative pr\u00e4sentiert.     <\/p>\n<p>Ziel des Projekts ist es, die gefragtesten Funktionen eines vollwertigen Feedreaders mit m\u00f6glichst wenigen Zeilen Quellcode bereitzustellen (zum Vergleich: Newsboat umfasst etwa 44.000 Zeilen Quellcode, w\u00e4hrend Newsraft etwa 9.000 Zeilen hat). Der Code des Projekts ist in der Programmiersprache C (C99) geschrieben und wird unter der ISC-Lizenz vertrieben.
