Urspr\u00fcnglich war die erste stabile Version von COSMIC f\u00fcr das erste Quartal 2025 geplant, jedoch hat sich die Entwicklung verz\u00f6gert, und mehr als ein Jahr nach der Ver\u00f6ffentlichung der ersten Alpha-Version steht das Projekt nun erst in der Beta-Phase. F\u00fcr die Beta-Tests sind ISO-Abbilder des Pop!_OS 24.04-Beta f\u00fcr Systeme mit NVIDIA-GPU (3,1 GB) sowie Intel\/AMD (2,7 GB) verf\u00fcgbar. In naher Zukunft wird mit der Bereitstellung von Paketen f\u00fcr die Beta-Version von COSMIC f\u00fcr Fedora, NixOS, Arch Linux, openSUSE, Serpent OS, Redox und CachyOS gerechnet.      <\/p>\n<p>COSMIC entwickelt sich als universelles Projekt, das an keine spezifische Distribution gebunden ist und den Freedesktop-Spezifikationen entspricht. F\u00fcr den Aufbau der Benutzeroberfl\u00e4che wird in COSMIC die Bibliothek Iced verwendet, die sichere Typen, eine modulare Architektur und ein reaktives Programmiermodell verwendet sowie eine Architektur bietet, die f\u00fcr Entwickler, die mit der deklarativen Schnittstellensprache Elm vertraut sind, vertraut ist. Es werden mehrere Rendering-Engines angeboten, die Vulkan, Metal, DX12, OpenGL 2.1+ und OpenGL ES 2.0+ unterst\u00fctzen. Die Leiste kann in Teile unterteilt werden, zum Beispiel den oberen Teil mit Men\u00fcs und Indikatoren und den unteren Teil mit der Liste aktiver Aufgaben und Schnellzugriffsverkn\u00fcpfungen.
