Die Methode erm\u00f6glicht es, eingebaute Speicherverschl\u00fcsselungsmechanismen (AMD SME\/SEV) zu umgehen, die Isolation von virtuellen Maschinen zu verletzen und den Mikrokode des Prozessors neu zu schreiben. F\u00fcr Manipulationen am Speichercontroller ist die Ausf\u00fchrung von Code auf Kernel-Ebene erforderlich, was die Gef\u00e4hrlichkeit dieser Angriffstechnik verringert.      <\/p>\n<p>Der \u201eSwizzle\u201c-Modus \u00e4ndert die Logik der Adressierung des Arbeitsspeichers, um Konflikte auszuschlie\u00dfen, die bei sequentiellem Zugriff entstehen, wenn aus verschiedenen Zeilen in einem Speicherkreis gelesen wird. Um solche Konflikte im \u201eSwizzle\u201c-Modus zu vermeiden, wendet der Controller eine XOR-Operation auf Teile der Adressbits an, um aufeinanderfolgende Datenbl\u00f6cke auf verschiedene Speicherb\u00e4nke zu verteilen. Der Angriff besteht darin, mit dem \u201eSwizzle\u201c-Modus auf einem laufenden System zu manipulieren, um physische Adressen zur Laufzeit neu zuzuordnen.      <\/p>\n<p>Der Prototyp des Angriffs wurde auf AMD-Prozessoren der 16h-Serie demonstriert, die in den Konsolen PS4 und Xbox One eingesetzt wurden, bei denen die Adresskonfigurationsregister des Speicherkontrollers dokumentiert waren und es keinen Mechanismus gab, um deren Zugriff nach dem Systemstart zu sperren. Bei AMD-Prozessoren der 17h-Serie und neuer (beginnend mit Zen) implementierte AMD einen Mechanismus zur Sperrung des Zugriffs auf die Register zur Adresskonfiguration des Speicherkontrollers und f\u00fcgte zudem einen Schutz gegen das \u00dcbertragen einer Kopie des Mikrokodes hinzu, der w\u00e4hrend des \u00dcbergangs des Prozessors in den Schlafmodus (C6) in den Arbeitsspeicher
