Das Problem wird durch einen Fehler im Handler udp_gro_receive_segment (net\/ipv4\/udp_offload.c) verursacht, der die Technologie GRO (Generic Receive Offload) implementiert, und kann zu Besch\u00e4digungen des Inhalts von Speicherbereichen des Kernels f\u00fchren, wenn UDP-Pakete mit Nullf\u00fcllung (lemsg payload) verarbeitet werden.<\/p>\n<p>Das Problem betrifft nur den Kernel <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=50201\">5.0<\/a><\/noindex>, da die Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr GRO bei UDP-Sockets <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/linux\/kernel\/git\/torvalds\/linux.git\/commit\/?id=e20cf8d3f1f7\">wurde<\/a><\/noindex> im November letzten Jahres hinzugef\u00fcgt wurde und nur in den letzten stabilen Kernel-Versionen enthalten ist. Die Technologie GRO erm\u00f6glicht eine schnellere Verarbeitung einer gro\u00dfen Anzahl eingehender Pakete, indem mehrere Pakete zu gr\u00f6\u00dferen Bl\u00f6cken aggregiert werden, die keine separate Verarbeitung jedes Pakets erfordern.<br \/>\nF\u00fcr TCP tritt das Problem nicht auf, da bei diesem Protokoll keine Aggregation von Paketen ohne payload unterst\u00fctzt wird.<\/p>\n<p>Die Schwachstelle wurde bisher nur in Form von <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/linux\/kernel\/git\/torvalds\/linux.git\/commit\/?id=4dd2b82d5adfbe0b1587ccad7a8f76d826120f37\">Patch<\/a><\/noindex>, ein patchendes Update wurde noch nicht ver\u00f6ffentlicht (das gestrige Update 5.0.11 enthielt den Fix <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.kernel.org\/pub\/linux\/kernel\/v5.x\/ChangeLog-5.0.11\">nicht<\/a><\/noindex>). Aus den Distributionen ist der Kernel 5.0 bereits enthalten in <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bodhi.fedoraproject.org\/updates\/?releases=F30&#038;type=security\">Fedora 30<\/a><\/noindex>, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/people.canonical.com\/~ubuntu-security\/cve\/2019\/CVE-2019-11683.html\">Ubuntu 19.04<\/a><\/noindex>, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.archlinux.org\/packages\/core\/x86_64\/linux\/\">Arch Linux<\/a><\/noindex>, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/packages.gentoo.org\/packages\/sys-kernel\/gentoo-sources\">Gentoo<\/a><\/noindex> und anderer kontinuierlich aktualisierter Distributionen. <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/security-tracker.debian.org\/tracker\/CVE-2019-11683\">Debian<\/a><\/noindex>, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/people.canonical.com\/~ubuntu-security\/cve\/2019\/CVE-2019-11683.html\">Ubuntu 18.10 und \u00e4lter<\/a><\/noindex>, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugzilla.redhat.com\/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2019-11683\">RHEL\/CentOS<\/a><\/noindex> und <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugzilla.novell.com\/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2019-11683\">SUSE\/openSUSE<\/a><\/noindex> das Problem nicht betroffen ist.<\/p>\n<p>Das Problem wurde durch <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/syzkaller.appspot.com\/upstream\">den Einsatz<\/a><\/noindex> eines von Google entwickelten automatisierten Fuzzing-Testsystems <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/google\/syzkaller\/blob\/master\/docs\/syzbot.md\">syzbot<\/a><\/noindex> und des  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/google\/kasan\/wiki\">KASAN<\/a><\/noindex> (KernelAddressSanitizer) festgestellt, das darauf abzielt, Fehler im Umgang mit Speicher sowie fehlerhafte Speicherzugriffe zu
