Das Projekt erm\u00f6glicht die Integration einer eigenst\u00e4ndigen \u00dcbersetzungsmaschine in Firefox, die nicht auf externe Cloud-Dienste angewiesen ist und Daten ausschlie\u00dflich auf dem System des Nutzers verarbeitet. Das Hauptziel der Entwicklung ist es, die Vertraulichkeit zu gew\u00e4hrleisten und die Daten des Nutzers vor m\u00f6glichen Leaks bei der \u00dcbersetzung von Inhalten auf im Browser ge\u00f6ffneten Seiten zu sch\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Entwicklung von Bergamot erfolgt im Berliner B\u00fcro von Mozilla mit Unterst\u00fctzung von Forschern aus <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/browser.mt\/partners\/\">mehreren<\/a><\/noindex> Universit\u00e4ten in Gro\u00dfbritannien, Estland und Tschechien. Die Entwicklung wird von der Europ\u00e4ischen Union im Rahmen eines durch das Programm finanzierten Stipendiums <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/programmes\/horizon2020\/en\">Horizon 2020<\/a><\/noindex>finanziert. Die H\u00f6he des Stipendiums betr\u00e4gt drei Millionen Euro. Das Projekt ist auf drei Jahre angelegt. Bei Mozilla gibt es eine <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/triagegirl\/status\/1184988341923540993\">offen<\/a><\/noindex>  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/careers.mozilla.org\/position\/gh\/1666741\/\">Stelle<\/a><\/noindex> f\u00fcr einen Spezialisten im Bereich maschinelles Lernen zur Mitarbeit an der Entwicklung einer \u00dcbersetzungsmaschine f\u00fcr die \u00dcbersetzung von einer Sprache in eine andere.<\/p>\n<p>Zu den verwandten Entwicklungen, die mit dem Projekt Bergamot in Verbindung stehen, geh\u00f6ren <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/browser.mt\/software\">zwei Links zur Bereitstellung von Updates erw\u00e4hnt: fuchsia-updates.googleusercontent.com und arm64.dogfood-release.astro.fuchsia.com. Im zweiten Link ist Astro der Codename f\u00fcr den Smart Screen<\/a><\/noindex>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Das in der Universit\u00e4t Edinburgh entwickelte Framework f\u00fcr maschinelle \u00dcbersetzung <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/marian-nmt.github.io\/\">Marian<\/a><\/noindex>, das auf einem rekurrenten neuronalen Netzwerk basiert. Das Framework ist in C++ geschrieben, kann GPU zur Beschleunigung des Lernens und der \u00dcbersetzung nutzen, und <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/marian-nmt\/marian\">wird geliefert<\/a><\/noindex> unterliegt der MIT-Lizenz.\n<li class=\"l\"> Das in der Prager Universit\u00e4t entwickelte Toolkit <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ufal\/neuralmonkey\">Neural Monkey<\/a><\/noindex> zur Verarbeitung von Informationen in nat\u00fcrlicher Sprache unter Verwendung von Methoden des sequenziellen maschinellen Lernens. Das Projekt verwendet das TensorFlow-Framework und kann zur schnellen Erstellung von Prototypen f\u00fcr Systeme zur maschinellen \u00dcbersetzung und zur Klassifizierung von Informationen in nat\u00fcrlicher Sprache verwendet werden. Der Code ist unter der BSD-Lizenz verf\u00fcgbar.\n<li class=\"l\"> Das an der Universit\u00e4t Sheffield vorbereitete Projekt <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ghpaetzold\/questplusplus\">QuEst++<\/a><\/noindex>, das zur Bewertung und Prognose der Qualit\u00e4t von Systemen zur maschinellen \u00dcbersetzung eingesetzt wird.\n<li class=\"l\"> Die bei Mozilla entwickelten  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=49639\">Text-to-Speech-Synthesizer<\/a><\/noindex>  (<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla\/TTS\">TTS<\/a><\/noindex>) und <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=47648\">Spracherkennungstechnologien<\/a><\/noindex> (<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla\/DeepSpeech\">Deep Speech<\/a><\/noindex>)\n<li class=\"l\"> Ein von der Europ\u00e4ischen Union finanziertes Projekt <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/paracrawl.eu\/\">ParaCrawl<\/a><\/noindex>, das eine Datenbank synchroner \u00dcbersetzungen verschiedener Phrasen in verschiedenen Sprachen aufbaut, die zur Ausbildung von Systemen des maschinellen Lernens verwendet werden kann. Die Grundlage des Projekts ist ein Bot <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/bitextor\/\">bitextor<\/a><\/noindex>, der mehrsprachige Websites indiziert und automatisch identische Texte findet, die in mehreren Sprachen vorliegen. Die Datenbank mit Beispielen paralleler \u00dcbersetzungen wird f\u00fcr 24 Sprachen, einschlie\u00dflich Russisch, erstellt.<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/paracrawl.eu\/releases.html\">Datenbank<\/a><\/noindex> F\u00fcr die russische Sprache ben\u00f6tigt es 637 MB im komprimierten Format und enth\u00e4lt \u00fcber 12 Millionen \u00dcbersetzungsbeispiele.\n<\/ul>\n<p>Die Entwicklung von Bergamot begann im Januar dieses Jahres, doch die Arbeiten am Projekt sind bisher <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/browser.mt\/software\">nicht verf\u00fcgbar<\/a><\/noindex> f\u00fcr \u00f6ffentliche Tests. Vor einigen Tagen haben die Entwickler  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ptmLzVeU0dk\">haben<\/a><\/noindex>  ein Video mit einer Demonstration des ersten Prototyps ver\u00f6ffentlicht.<\/p>\n<p><center><div class=\"youtube-placeholder\" data-id=\"ptmLzVeU0dk\" onclick=\"loadVideo(this)\">\r\n        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.youtube.com\/vi\/ptmLzVeU0dk\/hqdefault.jpg\" alt=\"Video abspielen\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" style=\"width:100%;height:auto;\">\r\n        <div class=\"play-button\"><\/div>\r\n    <\/div><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Wir erinnern daran, dass bereits in Firefox <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=49247\">gibt es<\/a><\/noindex> Ein integrierter Mechanismus zur \u00dcbersetzung von Seiten, der jedoch auf die Nutzung externer Cloud-Dienste angewiesen ist (unterst\u00fctzt werden Google, Yandex und Bing) und standardm\u00e4\u00dfig nicht aktiviert ist (um ihn zu aktivieren, m\u00fcssen die Einstellungen in about:config unter \"browser.translation\" ge\u00e4ndert werden). Der \u00dcbersetzungsmechanismus unterst\u00fctzt auch die automatische Spracherkennung, wenn eine Seite in einer unbekannten Sprache ge\u00f6ffnet wird, und zeigt einen speziellen Indikator an, der vorschl\u00e4gt, die Seite zu \u00fcbersetzen. Das im Rahmen des Bergamot-Projekts entwickelte Prototyp-System verwendet dasselbe Interface zur Interaktion mit dem Benutzer, jedoch wird anstelle der Anbindung an externe Dienste ein integrierter
