Pawel Tscheremuskin von der Kaspersky-Labor hat analysiert<\/a><\/noindex> verschiedene Implementierungen des VNC-Systems (Virtual Network Computing) und 37 Schwachstellen aufgedeckt, die durch Probleme beim Umgang mit dem Speicher verursacht wurden. Die in den VNC-Server-Implementierungen identifizierten Schwachstellen k\u00f6nnen nur von authentifizierten Benutzern ausgenutzt werden, w\u00e4hrend Angriffe auf Schwachstellen im Client-Code m\u00f6glich sind, sobald ein Benutzer mit einem vom Angreifer kontrollierten Server verbunden ist.<\/p>\n

Die meisten Schwachstellen wurden im Paket UltraVNC<\/a><\/noindex>entdeckt, das nur f\u00fcr die Windows-Plattform verf\u00fcgbar ist. Insgesamt wurden in UltraVNC 22 Schwachstellen identifiziert. 13 Schwachstellen k\u00f6nnen potenziell zur Ausf\u00fchrung von Code im System f\u00fchren, 5 zur Offenlegung von Inhalten im Speicher und 4 zu einem Dienstausfall.

In der offenen Bibliothek LibVNC<\/a><\/noindex> (LibVNCServer und LibVNCClient), die wird verwendet<\/a><\/noindex> in VirtualBox entdeckt wurden, wurden 10 Schwachstellen identifiziert.
\n5 Schwachstellen (CVE-2018-20020<\/a><\/noindex>, CVE-2018-20019<\/a><\/noindex>, CVE-2018-15127<\/a><\/noindex>, CVE-2018-15126<\/a><\/noindex>, CVE-2018-6307<\/a><\/noindex>) resultieren aus Puffer\u00fcberl\u00e4ufen und k\u00f6nnen potenziell zur Ausf\u00fchrung von Code f\u00fchren. 3 Schwachstellen k\u00f6nnen zu einer Informationsleckage f\u00fchren, 2 zu einem Dienstausfall.
\nAlle Probleme wurden bereits von den Entwicklern behoben, aber die \u00c4nderungen sind bisher nur in dem Master-Zweig reflektiert.<\/a><\/noindex> TightVNC<\/p>\n

Im (eine veraltete plattform\u00fcbergreifende Version wurde getestet, da die aktuelle Version 2.x nur f\u00fcr Windows herausgegeben wird), wurden 4 Schwachstellen gefunden. Drei Probleme (<\/a><\/noindex> CVE-2019-15679 1.3<\/a><\/noindex>CVE-2019-15678CVE-2019-8287<\/a><\/noindex>, ) sind auf Puffer\u00fcberl\u00e4ufe in den Funktionen InitialiseRFBConnection, rfbServerCutText und HandleCoRREBBP zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren und k\u00f6nnten potenziell zur Ausf\u00fchrung von Code f\u00fchren. Ein Problem (<\/a><\/noindex>, CVE-2019-15680<\/a><\/noindex>) f\u00fchrt zu einem Dienstausfall. Obwohl die Entwickler von TightVNCschon im vergangenen Jahr auf die Probleme hingewiesen wurden, sind die Schwachstellen weiterhin ungepatcht.<\/a><\/noindex>Im plattform\u00fcbergreifenden Paket benachrichtigt<\/a><\/noindex> TurboVNC<\/p>\n

(ein Fork von TightVNC 1.3, das die libjpeg-turbo-Bibliothek verwendet), wurde nur eine Schwachstelle ( CVE-2019-15683<\/a><\/noindex> ) gefunden, die jedoch gef\u00e4hrlich ist und bei vorhandenem authentifiziertem Zugriff auf den Server die Ausf\u00fchrung eigenen Codes erm\u00f6glicht, da bei einem Puffer\u00fcberlauf die R\u00fccksprungadresse kontrolliert werden kann. Das Problem wurdeam 23. August<\/a><\/noindex>behoben und tritt nicht mehr in der aktuellen Version auf.
