WebAssembly liefert eine plattformunabh\u00e4ngige, universelle halbierte Codierung f\u00fcr die Ausf\u00fchrung von Anwendungen, die aus verschiedenen Programmiersprachen kompiliert wurden. WebAssembly wird als eine zukunftstr\u00e4chtigere und zwischen Browsern transportierbare Technologie f\u00fcr die Entwicklung leistungsstarker Webanwendungen positioniert. WebAssembly kann f\u00fcr Aufgaben eingesetzt werden, die hohe Leistungsanforderungen haben, beispielsweise f\u00fcr Videokodierung, Audioverarbeitung, Grafik- und 3D-Manipulation, Spieleentwicklung, kryptografische Operationen, mathematische Berechnungen und die Erstellung portierbarer Implementierungen von Programmiersprachen.<\/p>\n<p>WebAssembly \u00e4hnelt in vielerlei Hinsicht Asm.js, unterscheidet sich jedoch dadurch, dass es ein bin\u00e4res Format ist, das nicht an JavaScript gebunden ist. In WebAssembly ist kein Garbage Collector erforderlich, da eine explizite Speicherverwaltung verwendet wird. Durch den Einsatz von JIT kann WebAssembly eine Leistung erreichen, die nahe an der von nativen Codes liegt. Zu den Hauptzielen von WebAssembly geh\u00f6ren die Gew\u00e4hrleistung von Portabilit\u00e4t, Vorhersehbarkeit des Verhaltens und die Identit\u00e4t der Codeausf\u00fchrung auf verschiedenen Plattformen.
