Niemand hatte erwartet, dass am 31. Dezember Eduard Shishkin (Entwickler und Maintainer von ReiserFS 4) ank\u00fcndigt<\/a> die neue Version, eines der schnellsten Dateisysteme f\u00fcr Linux \u2014 ReiserFS 5<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Die f\u00fcnfte Version bringt eine neue Methode zur Zusammenf\u00fchrung von Blockger\u00e4ten in logische Volumen.<\/p>\n

Ich betrachte dies als einen qualitativ neuen Fortschritt in der Entwicklung von Dateisystemen (und Betriebssystemen) \u2014 lokale Volumes mit paralleler Skalierung.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Reiser5 implementiert kein eigenes Blockniveau wie bei ZFS, sondern wird durch die Dateisystemmittel realisiert. Der neue Algorithmus zur Datenverteilung \"Fiber-Striping\" erm\u00f6glicht eine effizientere Zusammensetzung des logischen Volumes aus Ger\u00e4ten unterschiedlicher Gr\u00f6\u00dfe und mit unterschiedlicher Bandbreite, im Gegensatz zur traditionellen Kombination aus Dateisystem und RAID\/LVM.<\/p>\n

Diese und andere Eigenschaften der neuen Version von Reiser5 sollen ihr ein h\u00f6heres Leistungsniveau im Vergleich zu Reiser4 erm\u00f6glichen.<\/p>\n
