Gestern hat die Firma Mozilla ein Update f\u00fcr ihren Browser Firefox ver\u00f6ffentlicht, das einen Zero-Day-Fehler behebt. Berichten von Online-Quellen zufolge wurde die Schwachstelle aktiv von Angreifern ausgenutzt, jedoch hat Mozilla bisher keine Stellungnahme zu diesen Informationen abgegeben.<\/p>\n

Es ist bekannt, dass die Schwachstelle den JavaScript-JIT-Compiler IonMonkey f\u00fcr SpiderMonkey betraf, einen der Hauptkomponenten des Firefox-Kerns, der JavaScript-Operationen verarbeitet. Experten ordneten das Problem in die Kategorie der Schwachstellen ein, die durch Typinkonsistenzen oder \"Type Confusion\" entstehen, bei denen Daten im Speicher zun\u00e4chst als ein Datentyp definiert werden, sp\u00e4ter jedoch aufgrund bestimmter Manipulationen auf einen anderen Datentyp umschalten. Mit dieser Schwachstelle konnten Angreifer aus der Ferne die Ausf\u00fchrung beliebigen Codes auf dem angegriffenen System starten.      <\/p>\n

Laut den verf\u00fcgbaren Informationen wurde die betrachtete Schwachstelle von Experten des chinesischen Unternehmens Qihoo 360 entdeckt. Unternehmensvertreter gaben an, dass ihnen mehrere F\u00e4lle bekannt sind, in denen diese Schwachstelle von Angreifern ausgenutzt wurde. Erw\u00e4hnenswert ist, dass k\u00fcrzlich auf dem Twitter-Account von Qihoo 360 eine Mitteilung erschien, in der das Unternehmen \u00fcber eine aktiv ausgenutzte Zero-Day-Schwachstelle im Internet Explorer berichtete. Diese Mitteilung wurde jedoch sp\u00e4ter entfernt.<\/p>\n

Was die betreffende Schwachstelle betrifft, so wurde sie in den Versionen 72.0.1 des Browsers Firefox und 68.4.1 von Firefox ESR behoben. Nutzern des Browsers von Mozilla wird empfohlen, die Software auf die neueste Version zu aktualisieren, um nicht Opfer von Angreifern zu werden.<\/p>\n
