Im Gegensatz zu Deepin Linux verwendet UbuntuDDE anstelle des Deepin-Anwendungsgesch\u00e4fts das Ubuntu Software Center (Snap Store, basierend auf dem Gnome Software Center). Das Projekt ist derzeit eine inoffizielle Edition von Ubuntu, aber die Entwickler der Distribution f\u00fchren Gespr\u00e4che mit Canonical \u00fcber die Aufnahme von UbuntuDDE in die offiziellen Ubuntu-Distributionen. Die Komponenten des Deepin-Desktops werden unter Verwendung von C\/C++ (Qt5) und Go entwickelt. Ein zentrales Merkmal ist die Leiste, die mehrere Arbeitsmodi unterst\u00fctzt. Im klassischen Modus gibt es eine deutlichere Trennung zwischen offenen Fenstern und verf\u00fcgbaren Anwendungen, und der Bereich der Systemablage wird angezeigt.
